Rajkumar Hirani and Boman Irani Collaboration


There are some lovely actor-director pairs in the industry who share not only a special bond, but have given us many amazing, memorable, and hit films.



Boman Irani always appears in Hirani’s film like Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munnabhai, 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju.This shows Boman Irani is Rajkumar Hirani's lucky charm.

Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.


Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. is a 2003 Indiancomedy-drama film directed by Rajkumar Hirani (directorial debut) and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The story involves protagonist Munna Bhai (Sanjay Dutt), a goon, going to medical school. He is helped by his sidekick, Circuit (Arshad Warsi). It stars Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Jimmy Sheirgill, Gracy Singh, Boman Irani and Sunil Dutt and was later followed by a second film Lage Raho Munna Bhai, and became the first instalment of the Munna Bhai film series.


In the first instalment Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003) tried his luck at becoming a doctor. In the sequel, Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006) he follows footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi and takes to Gandhigiri.


 The second part was a major blockbuster and went on to win four National Awards including Best Supporting Actor for Dilip Prabhavalkar — who portrayed the role of Gandhi in the film.

3 Idiots

 Boman Irani (Viru Sahastrabuddhe a.k.a. Virus) as the strict principal of the engineering college and Kareena Kapoor as his daughter. Boman in 3 Idiots was inspired by eminent lyricist Javed Akhtar, as the two shared a similar oratory style.


3 Idiots is a comedy of ideas that is as provocative as funny, as wildly entertaining as insightful. A laugh-riot that talks about the most important of human pursuits: self-actualization. The follows the friendship of three students at an Indian engineering college and is a satire about the social pressures under an Indian education system.

PK (2014)

Actor Boman Irani, who has been part of all of Rajkumar Hirani's film PK, has a small part to play in the film as a role of Cherry Bajwa.PK is a 2014 Indian satirical comedy-drama film stars Aamir Khan in the titular role with Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Dutti n pivotal roles. The subject touched the religious element, which bowed a punch on superstitions and questions the theism as well.


PK has already  beaten 3 Idiots record as well as other movies . This was considered the toughest record to beat. Film will finish with 340-342 crore nett lifetime business.

Sanju

Sanju is a 2018 Indian biographical film directed by Rajkumar Hirani and written by Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. It was jointly produced by Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra under the banners Rajkumar Hirani Films and Vinod Chopra Films respectively.



 The film follows the life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir Kapoor stars as Dutt, along with an ensemble cast which features Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala as Nargis, Dia Mirza as Manyata Dutt, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Jim Sarbh. Ranbir Kapoor has given a performance that will go down in history. Sanju will be a cinematic marvel. Sanju is a biopic of the controversial life of actor Sanjay Dutt, his film career, jail sentence and personal life.Rajkummar Hirani’s ‘Sanju’ not only went on to become one of the massive hits at the box office, but also helped both Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt to elevate their filmy career.



Recently, the director announced he would be making the third instalment of the Munnabhai series.

Boman is Raju's lucky mascot and he is very fond of him. He respects him a lot as an actor too. Raju believes that Boman brings a different dimension to his films.
